Arbor Day Foundation

The Arbor Day Foundation, founded in 1972, is the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to tree planting and conservation. With a mission to inspire individuals and communities to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees, the foundation has successfully facilitated the planting of over 500 million trees across more than 50 countries. This diverse initiative encompasses various programs, such as Tree City USA, Tree Campuses, and Community Tree Recovery, which focus on urban forestry, educational outreach, and disaster recovery.

The Arbor Day Foundation partners with local organizations and municipalities to ensure the right trees are planted in the right places, enhancing both community green spaces and global ecosystems. By 2027, the foundation aims to plant an additional 500 million trees, prioritizing areas in critical need.
