EIT Climate

EIT Climate-KIC is Europe’s premier climate innovation agency and community, dedicated to fostering systemic change for climate action. Established in 2010, it was created by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology to lead the charge against climate change through collaborative innovation. With over 450 partners worldwide, EIT Climate-KIC excels in orchestrating place-based transformations that empower regions, cities, and industries to meet their climate ambitions.

The organization focuses on climate entrepreneurship, offering extensive support to start-ups with more than 2,100 climate-positive companies nurtured and over €2 billion raised in external investments. EIT Climate-KIC promotes a learning-by-doing approach, engaging 58,000 participants in educational activities and driving meaningful local solutions.

Its mission emphasizes integrated systems that combine economic, social, and technological advancements to foster climate mitigation and adaptation. Through its robust initiatives, including the Climathon event that mobilizes citizens across over 100 cities annually, EIT Climate-KIC inspires collective action for a just and sustainable future.
