Common Services Centres (CSCs) are pivotal components of India’s National e-Governance Plan, launched to enhance accessibility to government services across rural and urban areas. Established in 2006, CSCs function as digital access points, aimed at delivering Government-to-Citizen (G2C) e-Services directly to citizens. With a strong network of over 5.67 lakh functioning CSCs, including around 4.5 lakh in rural regions, these centres play a critical role in ensuring transparent and efficient service delivery, significantly reducing the need for citizens to visit government offices.

CSCs offer a diverse range of services including assistance with governmental procedures, digital literacy programs like PMGDISHA, and payment services through platforms like DigiPay. They empower Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) to facilitate these services, promoting local engagement and community support. With a commitment to bridging the digital divide, CSCs are instrumental in propelling India’s digital transformation and ensuring that essential services are within reach of every citizen.
