Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY) is a prominent health insurance initiative launched by the Maharashtra State Government, originally known as Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana (RGJAY). Effective from April 1, 2017, MJPJAY aims to provide accessible healthcare solutions across Maharashtra. This comprehensive scheme covers a wide range of medical services, offering cashless treatment, free surgeries, and trauma care to eligible beneficiaries.

The initiative is supported by a network of empanelled hospitals and health camps, ensuring that patients have access to crucial medical care. MJPJAY also employs Aarogyamitras, who facilitate navigation through the healthcare system and assist patients with necessary documentation and services. The project emphasizes transparency and public accountability through various online resources, including preauthorization requirements, procedure lists, and health statistics.
