Mesonet

The Oklahoma Mesonet is a premier environmental monitoring network established on January 1, 1994, through a collaborative effort between the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University. Comprising 120 automated weather stations strategically located across all 77 counties of Oklahoma, the Mesonet provides real-time, precise data on local weather conditions. Each station is equipped with advanced instruments that gather environmental measurements every five minutes, ensuring timely access to critical information. The Oklahoma Climatological Survey oversees the verification and dissemination of this data to diverse users, including farmers, educators, and researchers.

In addition to offering historical data and past weather observations, the Mesonet’s website and mobile applications feature forecasts provided by the National Weather Service, enhancing public safety and aiding various sectors such as agriculture and fire management.
