Omaha Public Schools (OPS) is a diverse and expansive educational district dedicated to fostering student success in college, career, and life. Serving over 51,000 students across 65 elementary schools, 13 middle schools, and 9 high schools, OPS emphasizes equity and inclusivity, accommodating learners from varied backgrounds, including those who have received English Learner services. The district offers a broad curriculum focused on S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, and math), alongside arts, world languages, and Advanced Placement courses—more than any other district in Nebraska.

The College & Career Academies and Pathways provide high school students with opportunities to explore career fields while developing essential skills. With a commitment to innovation, OPS was the first Nebraska district to establish a virtual K-8 school, further enhancing flexible learning options. A supportive staff of nearly 7,000 educators, many holding advanced degrees, ensures quality education, underpinned by a strong focus on health and safety in light of recent challenges.
