The Texas Two Steps, One Sticker program revolutionizes vehicle inspections and registrations in Texas, streamlining processes for motorists since its implementation on March 1, 2016. Born from House Bill 2305, this initiative combines vehicle registration and inspection into a single sticker, enhancing convenience and compliance. Instead of having to maintain two separate stickers for inspection and registration, drivers now display one blue-bordered registration sticker that indicates both statuses and expiration dates.

This program aims to enhance road safety and reduce environmental impact, as a successful vehicle inspection is mandatory for registration renewal. It fosters accountability among vehicle owners, leading to safer cars on the road. Additionally, the program mitigates the risks of fraud and theft associated with traditional inspection stickers.
